Solo
Two separate divisions for leaders and followers, these categories allow dancers to showcase their unique style, musicality, and movement vocabulary without a partner. Competitors must perform a choreographed routine that highlights their strengths, personality, and creativity. Open to all levels — a powerful way to connect with the audience and judges on your own terms.
Teams
This division brings the energy of group choreography to the Worlds stage. Open to teams of 3 or more couples, this category celebrates synchronization, formation work, and group storytelling. A powerful way to show unity and impact.
Solo Teams
Solo Teams are composed of 3 or more dancers performing synchronized, choreographed routines without partnering. This division focuses on clean execution, creativity, and musicality. It’s a great way for followers and leaders to shine as individuals within a group format.
Rising Stars (Amateur)
These individual divisions allow dancers to showcase their unique style, musicality, and movement vocabulary without a partner. Competitors must perform a choreographed routine that highlights their strengths, personality, and creativity. Open to all levels — a powerful way to connect with the audience and judges on your own terms.
Pro-am
The Pro-Am division is designed for student dancers performing with their teacher (or a professional). It gives developing dancers the chance to gain stage experience and showcase their progress with the guidance of a pro. A supportive and fun way to grow on stage!
Originals (Professional)
This is the premier showcase for professional couples. Routines in the Originals division highlight originality, high-level technique, creativity, and connection. It’s where artistry meets elite execution.
Showtime (Professional)
Showtime features polished, high-level performances by professionals. This division features lifts and tricks. Showtime is a platform for creative freedom, big ideas, and standout routines.
Strictly
This division celebrates authentic social dancing and real-time connection. Competitors enter with a chosen partner and dance to randomly selected music, with no choreography or rehearsal. Each performance is fully improvised, showcasing the expression and partnership at the heart of Brazilian Zouk.
